DELIVERY DAY
Before distribution day is delivery day!! The week leading up to delivery day, make sure and talk to the front office so that they know that you will need the concession stand when the books arrive. When you get the call that the truck is on the way and that the books are coming, editors and EIC's should be excused from class if their teacher allows. When the truck backs in with the palettes, they will unload from the dock and bring them to the concession stand. The first thing to do is count the number of boxes and find the spring supplement box to make sure those are all in there.
Open one box (!!!!!) and the EIC gets first view then the editors. Count the number of books in the box, and multiply that by the number of boxes you have through all the palettes to make sure that there are roughly enough books to fulfil the order.
As you move all of the boxes from the palettes to inside the concession stand, take a sharpie and label each box with a number to make sure that everything is accounted for. After this, you can start going box by box and stuffing the spring supplements and the theme inserts into the insert page or in the back (however your design accounted for). Do this box by box and make sure that the boxes that are done are stored separately from the ones that are not done yet.
What are theme inserts?
They are a half sheet of paper that gets stuffed into the cover of the book before distribution. It tells the reader what the theme is and reminds them that this is a student publication and that students do all of the work. Make sure to say that we apologize for any mistakes and put the contact information for the advisor if they have any complaints. Also add anything other that you want the students and readers to know or understand about the publication and the theme.

BEFORE DISTRIBUTION DAY
Before distribution day, you need to ask the custodial staff to set up 3 tables by the cafeteria and around the concession stand. Make signs for each of the tables (freshmen, sophomores, and juniors) and seniors can pick up their books from the concession stand. At each table, there needs to be a printed out spreadsheet of the buyers list for each grade and what package everyone bought. There also needs to be a printout of what each package consists of so that everyone gets the right thing. You also need to make sure that each table has the nameplates for each grade alphabetized on the table so that it is easy to access. Another thing that is important to put on the table is a highlighter and a pen. Whenever someone comes to get their book, highlight their name and have them sign next to their name to confirm it.
DISTRIBTION DAY
Distribution day can be whenever you have everything organized and are ready to distribute. Make sure to put aside boxes of books that need to be saved for competition and that are extra for trading or storage. Additional autograph supplements can be purchased for $5 from the main concession stand on distribution day. Seniors get their books in the morning of the first day of distribution and everyone else can get their books during lunch shifts for 3 days. There needs to be at least 2 people manning each table during the lunch shifts in order to make sure that no one waits too long or that anything happens to the books. Before you give someone a book, make sure that there is a spring supplement and a theme insert in the book. Tell everyone thank you for purchasing the book. There always needs to be someone who can deliver boxes to and from the tables as people come to pick them up.
