DESIGN
When you are coming up with the design for the club pages, it all depends on how many you have. You can do it like we usually do with three club pictures on each page, and six on a spread, or you can come up with an alternate design that is more cutting edge. However you decide to do it, make sure that you save the design as a template and drag and drop it onto every club spread so that it is exactly the same. You do not want pictures even on one spread and not on the other. However, if you are doing an alternate design, that gives you some wiggle room for design but each spread still needs to be kind of the same. For both, it is important to give plenty of space in between pictures or on the side for the names, however you choose to do it. It is also important that NOTHING, no words or pictures are in the gutter, even if it is the edge of the picture and it does not matter. Remember that your design for clubs should reflect the design for sports, since they are similar and have the same layout. Also, try and get clubs together that go together. Put all of the language clubs together, all of the honor societies together, etc.
PREDICTING PROBLEMS
There are always going to be problems with clubs but here are some solutions to what may happen. Do not let anyone into the picture late. When you send the email to the advisor suggest that everyone be there 10 minutes early. If someone is not there for the picture the picture will not be retaken or stalled. Picture days are a tight schedule and there is no time for wiggle room. Another problem that you may have is if Advisors of clubs do not tell their people that they have a club that day. In order to prevent this you need to send a reminder email the week before of the schedule and the times. Also suggest that the Advisors share with their students if they want them all to wear matching shirts to represent their club.
